Island Wheelers cycling club will be hosting the 3rd round of the Cycling Ulster Cyclocross league on Sunday the 20th of October 2013 at Windmill Wood Dungannon- Sponsored by Nugent Trailers. This event would not be possible without the support of Dungannon council, who have provided Windmill Wood as a venue, prepared the site for the race and placed their facilities at the disposal of the Island wheelers. Hosting this event is a great privilege to the Island Wheelers, Nugent Trailers, Dungannon Council and the local community, as over 200 riders will attend the race from all over Ulster and Indeed Ireland to participate in the race.
The event will incorporate both a Cyclo-Cross ‘A’, and ‘B’ race, as well as a youth, and mountain bike support race. Parking, toilets, bike wash, and showers (off site at Dungannon Park) are available. Refreshments will be served on site, so why not come and visit Windmill Wood on the 20th and enjoy a great day of Cyclocross and Mountain biking in a spectacular location.

Under 6, Under 8s, Under 10s and Under 12s – 11:20
Under 14, Under 16, MTB support males & females – 5 minutes after the last rider has crossed the line – approx. 12:30
Cyclo-cross race – 5 minutes after the last rider has crossed the line – approx. 2:05
Course
The main course will begin with a fire road start uphill for around 200 metres before heading into a wide trail. The course continues through the trail, out onto a fire road, and back into the trail for around 1.5 miles. There is a green area which will hold the youth course, and will be incorporated into the senior course as well. Click here to view last years race report and race videos.
Directions to Windmill Wood – coming from M1 head towards Dungannon along the A29. Dungannon Park should be on your left, look for Gortmerron Link Road on your right. Turn up Gortmerron Link Road, then take immediate left onto Cunningham Lane. Follow Cunningham Lane to the end which is onto the Killyman Road. Turn left then look for Killymerron Park on your left. The entrance to Windmill Wood is at the end of this street. Please use the designated parking area and do not park on this street.
