The club held its AGM on Thursday 6th November in The Cohannon Inn. A large number of members attended to hear the breakdown of club events and competitions that members took part in over the year. Outgoing chairman Aidan gave a comprehensive power point presentation of where the club competed in all aspects of cycling throughout the year, from mountain biking, road races, cyclo cross, time trials and various sportives that members took part and came away with honours galore. A big mention went to the youth of the club who are breaking all barriers in every event they took competed in.
Aidan then went on too thank all the members for their huge efforts throughout the year for competing, attending and marshalling in all the events that the Island Wheelers were represented in. The future already looks good for 2015. Aidan thanked all our sponsors, volunteers, Order of Malta, Dungannon Council and anyone else that helped the club in any way throughout the year. We look forward to your continued and valuable support throughout next year.
Cathal then took the stage to run through the finances of the club and give the members a run down of the healthy position the club is in at the end of 2014. These treasurers report can be obtained from Cathal.
The election for the new committee for 2015 took place next and a full breakdown of all committee positions can be viewed on the contact us page on the website. Good luck and a massive thanks to those who retained positions for 2015 and a massive welcome to new committee members. Huge thanks to all those who stood down from the committee for your time, help and efforts throughout 2014. Also a massive thank you to Gareth Dempsey for the great job you done over the year as club secretary. Big thanks also to Aidan Lafferty for all your hard work, time and sometimes unnoticed effort that you have given to the club in your time as chairman.
As your committee we look forward to 2015 we want to help all members develop as cyclists either as recreational, social, racing, road, off road and whatever you want to do on a bike!
