Message from The Chairman

Dear Members,

I am pleased to see that year after year, we the members of Island Wheelers, our club, have not been content to rest on our laurels but have continued to build on our successes. We have continued to grow both in numbers and in ambition and thanks to the efforts of our hard working outgoing chairman, secretary and committee members, and their predecessors, we are now a highly respected and regarded club throughout the cycling community both locally and further afield.

We are now involved in events 12 months of the year and have a presence in Road Racing, Time Trialling, Mountain Biking, Cyclo-Cross, together with the massive participation of members in club runs, sportives, leisure cycles and charity cycles the length and breadth of the country and beyond.

As a club we have supported numerous good causes over the years raising thousands of pounds, helping all of our community.

With the growth of our younger membership we are experiencing a level of enthusiasm that I hope will be infectious both in bringing in new members and rekindling in us all our interest in this great sport that brings with it all those benefits of health, fitness and friendship.

I am looking forward to my term as Chairman and working with the committee, and with all of you in continuing to build on our success. If you have any questions, comments and suggestions please get in touch with me or any member of the committee to discuss anything on your mind, it’s your club. We want everyone to use our web-site,twitter and Facebook page to keep up to date with all that the club does and to feel part of it.

I look forward to seeing you all soon at our Christmas dinner and prize giving.

Best wishes.

Brian McAllister

Chairman
