Mid Ulster Inter Club League
Round 10 of the Inter Club League took place on the ever fast and furious Annaghmore circuit. On a dry and warm summers evening it was fantastic racing on the night for all involved. 3 Wheelers featured in the top ten with Richard Davidson 3rd, Gerry McVeigh 7th and a great 10th for newcomer to the racing scene Philip McCoubrey on his race debut! Well done Philly, keep up the hard work!
This week sees the ICL Time Trial taking place at the Moy Road circuit (same start location as the Annaghmore race) on Tuesday 21st June at 7.30pm. On Thursday night there is also another 10mile TT on the Omagh road in the East Tyrone CC league and which is also part of the Super Six series.
Three Wheelers Battle the Newry 3 Day Event
Three Wheelers featured in the Newry 3 day event on the weekend just past. Noel McLoughlin, Richard Davidson and Peter Hughes battled with some of Northern Irelands best riders. Noel was the best of the Wheelers in the General Classification in 24th place and with a time of 5hrs 44mins 48sec, only 1min 47secs behind the overall yellow jersey winner. Richard wasn’t far behind in 29th place and Peter finished in 64th. Well done to all involved and for the team support vehicle and crew who helped the riders during the 2 road races and time trials.

82miler Training Run over the Sperrins
Saturday 18th June saw the final preparation run for the Sligo summer trip, with 9 hardy riders leave the Cornmill at 7.30am heading towards Lough Fea and then onto Plumbridge and Omagh for a day’s up and downs over and around the picturesque Sperrin mountains. 82 miles was the final total with over 4500 feet of climbing so it should hold well for next week to Sligo. We lost one man however in the mountains with a mechanical problem, with big O’Donnell disappearing on one of the climbs. One of the others got a text message however saying all was well with him, he had taken a detour and now we believe he’s going to camp a few days in the mountains living off the land. If anyone see’s smoke signals from the Sperrins direction, then it is probably Marty burning his back wheel and looking assistance! Hopefully he will get those gears sorted for the Sligo trip!
Sligo Club Summer Trip
The route for the trip this year is finalised and is approximately 115 mile. There will be a couple of stops on the way for breakfast and the usual pint stop. The full cost of the trip is £65 and this must be paid by 20th June, less the deposit.
The trip will start from the Cornmill on the 25th at 7:30am, please arrange for your baggage to be there at that time or it can be left at Eddie Polin’s on the evening before. Hopefully the weather will be on our side and this trip will be a good weekends craic.
