Ulster XC League Round-up

Round 4 of the Ulster XC league was held at Dunmore Co Down, Weather conditions were good on the day although the course did start to show signs of wear during the race. Technical course with a lot of climbing and then descending through technical terrain with little respite for recovery. For our sins the senior 4 race was 3 laps (normally 2) so the pain was a little worse. Paul Daly had another great day with another 4^th , which keeps him in 3^rd place in the league, so well done Paul, Barry Kirkland had an excellent 7^th place and Aidan Lafferty had a Crash on the 2^nd lap on a rock section so shoulder and pride both damaged, so a casualty job and no points. Conor Boyle again raced in the under 14s and had an excellent 4^th so well done Conor, this is the age we all should have been at it, if any of the parents have kids that are interested there are races for all ages and it’s great for their bike skills.

It’s nice to see the Island Wheelers kit appearing more and more on the Cycling Ulster website in all aspects of cycling, watch this space as we intend to explore the cycle cross events in the autumn!
