It’s with great joy this morning when seeing the final standings excel sheet for the Inter Club Time Trial League that Alan McKeowns name was on the top of it with 71 points. Alan rode fast and consistently each week right through the season to make sure he finished first.
One of the most dedicated riders in the Island Wheelers, as well as one of the nicest fellas in the peleton, you won’t find a more modest winner. Everyone from the Island Wheelers wish you congratulations Alan – here’s to another trophy in the cabinet for the club and of course for yourself!

A fantastic year for the club – what was only a leisure club only a few years ago, the Island Wheelers is now both a leisure cycling club but also has a fantastic racing element to it. This is becoming more apparent now on summer Wednesday nights now where there are up to 3 groups heading out, one being a fast/race group, the other two a more leisurely pace to suit all abilities.
Winter is approaching fast – so watch out on the website for details on the turbo training classes.
