Saturday 11th May was a day for hardy bikers with black skies and a strong north westerly wind. We headed to Pomeroy, then Carrickmore first which was hard going thanks to a tough headwind, combined with squally showers by the time we reached Carrickmore. We turned for Creggan and with the wind on our side we started to ride a bit quicker, however just before our shop stop at Creggan we were pounded with hailstones, what strange weather! After refreshments we headed for the Blackbog Road and alas a tailwind. Young James recorded speeds over 40mph and we were now making headway until Pete punctured, this was quickly mended and we were on our way again through Dunamore, Cookstown, Desertcreat, and back to base. This was a tough day in the saddle, legs and lungs were well tested! The next tour run on Saturday 18th will be a nice little scenic route in the Sperrins, hopefully weather will be a little bit nicer!
