Well done to the Wheelers who took part in the Omagh 3 Day on the weekend past – Friday saw the riders tackle a fast and furious 22mile road race where it ended in a bunch sprint. Saturday saw a tough 44mile road race with 4 King of the Hill points – then on Sunday a 4mile Time Trial and finally a 35mile road race finishing with a mountain top finish on Sionfinn.
Best of the Wheelers was John O’Hagan who took 18th in the overall General Classification. Gerry McVeigh was next best Wheeler in 24th in GC – notable result for Gerry was a fantastic 4th place in the time trial only 9 seconds behind the winner of the stage. The other two in the Wheelers A race team finished well with Gareth Dempsey (33rd) and Sean McCann (58th).
Well done all and a big thanks to Omagh Wheelers who held a great competition for the A4 riders.
