The county town of Omagh is the place to be this weekend when the best A4 racing cyclists across Ireland take part in the 3-day Tour of Omagh. The stage race takes place from 27-29th June and features a similar format to previous years with three road stages and one time trial stage.
This year the Island Wheelers will be represented by a five man team – Kieran Talbot, Dean Burnside, Colin Murtagh, Sean Scullion and Raymond Rocks. All five riders have had great success this year, not only in road racing but also in mountain biking and triathlons, and feature regularly in the results.
There will be prizes for the overall Race Leader; King of the Hills, Sprints, a Combativity competition and the Team prize which the Island Wheelers team are well placed to win.
On behalf of the club we would like to wish the team good luck and the best of success in this years Tour of Omagh. We would also like to wish John O’Hagan, who has represented the club in this event in the past and will be racing this year for the North West Cycling Club every success as well.
