Wheelers in Action at Round 1 of the Cyclo Cross Series

The first round of the 2013 Ulster Cyclo-cross series took place on Sunday 6 October at Lurgan Park.  The weather was overcast with a strong breeze but it was warm and the park, magnificent in autumn colours, was busy with walkers as well as cyclists.  If that wasn’t enough, 18 Island Wheelers turned up to paint the park red, black, and yellow!  It was fantastic to see so many Wheelers, both from the youth and senior ranks, taking part on the day.  Furthermore, it was great seeing a number of riders try Cyclo Cross for the first time too, no doubt they’ll have the bug now.  It seems the club is expanding into all genres of cycling which is great to see!  Results from the weekend can be seen below
