With the sun shining and temperatures soaring for April, the Bann Valley Classic was destined to be a great days racing. It was Paul Quinn who once again left his mark in the B race taking an impressive 2nd in the bunch sprint. Paul now only needs 1 more point to be promoted to cat 3, and with the form he’s in at the moment , he’ll be a cat 3 rider sooner rather than later!
Gerry McVeigh, another Wheeler on form at the moment, came home with a top 10 finish in the same race. It’s great to see 2 of our men in the top 10, the Island Wheelers are really making an impression this year at the open races, keep up the hard work lads! Gareth Dempsey, who just keeps getting faster and faster, also took part in the B race, however he didn’t make the placings today but it’s only a matter of time before he does!
The A race saw two Wheelers; Richard Davison, and Alan McKeown, take on the Innisrush Circuit however it wasn’t their day but an encouraging performance none the less. A big thank you to Bann Valley Road Club for hosting a great race and for the refreshments at the end which were more than welcomed!
