The morning of Saturday the 19th was dry, bright and calm, – a perfect cycling morning. We were not surprised therefore, when well into double figures turned up for the Pleasure Team. We were surprised however, when one of our stalwarts turned up in shorts : despite ‘global warming’ this still seemed a step too far for mid February. Our surprise quickly turned to shock when we noticed the smooth sheen on his legs, which suggested that that they had been shaved or perhaps even waxed !! – this would be a step too far for the Pleasure Team. However, after assurances that it was only an illusion caused by a combination of his fair complexion and oil of Wintergreen we agreed to allow him to accompany us. We are aware that some hardcore cyclists feel the need to get in touch with their feminine side, but such behaviour would never be acceptable in the Pleasure Team.
Our route this week took us down through Ardboe and then into Ballinderry, a sharp right here took us along the lough shore through Kinturk and into Moortown. We stopped here for coffee and the usual banter. After the break we headed across country to Stewartstown and then back to Coalisland in time for lunch.
